Get off those phones once in a while 5L1 - Edltfid My dad took this picture. It makes me so sad. On the right you have my sister, my fiance’, and myself too absorbed in technology to notice my poor mom, sitting on the left hoping someone will acknowledge her and talk to her as she eats lunch. Just horrible. Yet we do it all the time. We don‘t intend to, but we allow technology to replace the interaction we're supposed to have as humans. We do it at home and we do it at work. We ”multitask“ and think we can do it all. But we can't. And when we try to pretend we can, the message we send to those around us is I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU. If you need proof, just look at my poor mom's face. If you've read #Wyou know that at “we don't text or email abou ything significant. Things like—"What’s the address?" or "What time is the meeting?"—can be typed, but everything else is face-to-face. If we can't be in the same room, we video chat. It takes more time, but our relationships are too important to not invest the time. Technology was designed to help us be more productive, not to seriously harm our ability to connect on a deep human level. I’m not perfect but I'm a lot better than I was.
